For Don and Sally Wild, the opportunity to benefit Connecticut Children’s Medical Center through a charitable gift annuity had the added benefit of resolving a significant personal tax liability and became a “win-win situation” according to Mr. Wild.
Gerrit Hagenzieker Charting a Safe Investment to Benefit Children in Uncertain Times
About 10 years ago, the Hagenziekers decided to become members of The Legacy Society and put the children’s hospital in their will. "We are dedicated to the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center," Mr. Hagenzieker said. "but in the meantime we still need money to live on, so we wanted a guaranteed income we can depend upon."
The Hagenziekers took out a charitable gift annuity with CCMC and have been happy with the result. "We would recommend it absolutely to other people,” Mr. Hagenzieker says.
Annette Yush has created a legacy as a trailblazer for women in the financial services industry.
Now 80, Mrs. Yush has another legacy in mind. Widowed and alone since her husband and two daughters died of cancer, Mrs. Yush wants to do something to help children fighting for their lives.
She has joined the Legacy Society by naming Connecticut Children's Medical Center in her will, and is dedicating her gift to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.
